Wolfgang Otto Blass was in fact born in Germany but ended up creating wine in Australia via a winemaking apprenticeship at home and stints in France (specifically Champagne) and England. The winery itself was launched in 1966 and is to this day one of the most celebrated wineries in Australia with more awards behind them than we have time to mention here. Wolfgang himself is considered to be one of the great pioneers of Australian Wine. In short, you are in very safe hands when drinking Wolf Blass wines!
